Operational Support
GPS
Global
Positioning Satellite equipment is installed in all of our vehicles
to insure that our dispatchers have real-time data on the location
of all our vehicles. This advanced technology further insures that
our work is performed on-time, on-location and with great efficiency.
The hard copies of tracking data have proved useful in defending
insurance liability claims.
Weather
Satellite
With
weather data from the National weather Service downloaded 24 hours
a day from our rooftop satellite dish, we have the latest severe
weather information at our disposal so that we are on top of whatever
course of action is needed to keep ahead of developing events.
We
also use the service of a consulting meteorological service. Twelve
professional meteorologists monitor the weather twenty four hours
a day, seven days a week. This is the same service used by IDOT
and many municipalities. The biggest benefit of this service is
the 5 hour notification that is sent to us before each snow event,
guaranteeing our preparation for every event.
Communications
Communications
in the field are critical for getting the job done efficiently.
Our switchboard is manned during every snow event and for 24 hours
afterward to take your calls and respond quickly to your requests.
We utilize the latest Nextel Radios for constant and immediate 2-way
communication with our vehicles in the field. Cell phones, two way
radios and laptop computers are all used by our field supervisors
to get the job done.
