Gasaway uses
the full spectrum of deicers available on the market. From rock salt for
asphalt pavement to calcium or magnesium chloride for sensitive areas we
have them all.
ICE REMOVAL
AND PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
We are all
aware of the many dangers of ice formation. Gasaway offers many options
to prevent and remove this hazardous liability from your property as well
as parking garages. From applying rock salt in minimum accumulation snowfalls,
to complete removal of snow and de-icing chemical applications, we have
the products to suit your winter needs.

Dump Truck with V-box Salt Spreader and Liquid Saddle Tanks
This truck
with tail gate spreader is used to spread rock salt on large parking lots
& roadways. The saddle tanks prewet salt with calcium chloride to
activate the melting process when temperatures drop below 20°F. Spreads
8—12 tons of salt before reloading.
 Over
100 tons of rock salt are inventoried on site in Romeoville in a covered
storage bin. This assures adequate quantities are available during snow
events. It also keeps the salt dry to prevent clumping and freezing; a
necessity for even spreading on your parking lot.
We don't
store tons of salt on our clients parking lot. Which saves them from damaged
asphalt, salt runoff into detention ponds and sewers, and the eye sore
of a tarp blowing in the wind.

Icing Trucks
Tank trucks
fitted with special nozzles and spray bars applies liquid deicing chemicals
on dry surface prior to a storm, or after an ice storm, to prevent development
of "black ice" and related hazardous driving conditions.
